ProntoMeals Case Study

Project overview

The product:

My food service delivery website affords user who don’t have the the time to cook and have busy schedules to be able to order delicious and affordable meals online

Project duration:

This product was designed and tested between February 2023 and March 2023

Problem Statement:

Amidst the hustle and bustle of today’s fast-paced environment, individuals struggle to find the time to cook at home. Some don’t even have the time to visit a restaurant. The challenge was to find a way for these individuals to order and receive food at their own convenience.

The goal:

.

My goal was to design a responsive website  that lets users order their meals quickly and easily from fanciful restaurants and easy payment for the meals ordered.

My role:

User Experience Designer responsible for the responsive website design from concept to delivery.

Understanding the User

User research: summary

I used the data collected from user interviews about their eating habits

to create personas. From the data, most users are not willing to ordering meals online because of the time needed to complete the task of ordering a meal and

searching for appealing and cost effective meals. Payment is also a concern because of privy

hidden cost. An easy to use responsive website and app will go a long way to help the users.

User Persona

Problem statement:

Shafiz Akil is a University student 3rd year

who needs to save money

because Pooling among friends and sharing the bill is a pain.

Competitive audit

An audit of a few competitor's products provided direction on gaps and opportunities to address with the Food service delivery responsive website.

Ideation

I did a quick ideation exercise to come up with ideas for how to address gaps identified in the competitive audit. My focus

was specifically on reducing the time in making an order for a meal and make easy payments and checkout.

Starting the Design

Digital Wireframes

After ideating and drafting some paper wireframes, I created the initial designs for the Food service delivery

responsive website and app. These designs focused on delivery time reduction and easy to use website to make users comfortable

and enjoyable experience .

Low-fidelity prototype

To prepare for usability testing, I created a low-fidelity prototype that connected the user flow of viewing an item about to expire

and searching for new delicious cuisines.

Refining the design

Mockups

Based on the insights from the usability studies, I applied design changes like providing a clear section from the home screen to browse meals that specifically use meal

items available in "Menu"

The high fidelity prototype followed the same user flow as the low -fidelity

prototype, including design changes made after the usability study.

design process and aligning with specific user need helped me come up with solutions that were both feasible and useful.

Conduct research on how successful the app is in reaching the goal to minimize the time user complete the task of
